The Power of Place: Rural Descriptive Representation and Policy Support (with Lukas K. Alexander)

Using a preregistered, original survey experiment, we find that rural Americans exhibit greater support for laws and perceive them as more beneficial to rural communities when proposed by rural state representatives.

"If Foreign, Then Cleaner": Individual Corruption Perceptions and Support for Free Trade in Developing Nations (with Guillermo Rosas)

Do perceptions of domestic corruption shape public opinion on free trade? We find such effects in developing nations. Positive views of foreign countries and firms are mediators. Results show a “foreignness cue” drives support.
